Kalvin Phillips Joins Manchester City
Leeds United midfielder, Kalvin Phillips, is officially a Citizen after completing a multi-million-pound move to Manchester City.
On Monday, 4 July, it was announced that Phillips would be transferring to City for a cool £42 million for Phillips, with a further £3 million to be added in potential bonuses.
The 26-year-old Englishman, whose deal is reportedly for six years, will doubtlessly help bolster the club’s midfield in the wake of skipper Fernandinho’s recent departure.
In an interview posted on City’s official Twitter page, Phillips gushed about how “absolutely delighted” he is to join the current reigning English Premier League champions.
“City have again proved to be the best team in the country with an amazing squad and a manager in Pep Guardiola who is rightly considered to be the finest in the world,” he said.
“To be able to play under Pep and learn from him and his coaching staff, as well as be part of such a fantastic squad, is a prospect that I am incredibly excited about. City are a world-class club with world-class staff and facilities, and it’s a dream come true to have joined the club.”
